Mauser Model 1896 "Broomhandle" Box-Magazine Auto-Pistol

Mauser Model 1896 "Broomhandle" Box-Magazine Auto-Pistol. Very successful and widely used in many countries as their standard issue military side-arm; it was in use in the USSR until about 1980. Manufactured to originally fire a 7.65mm cartridge, 10 round box magazine loaded by stripper clip.

Wooden holster served as a shoulder stock, making this pistol function as a semi-auto carbine.
