Indian Folding "Katar" Push-Dagger
|
|
Indian Folding "Katar" Push-Dagger held in the hand with side-frame extending parallel to the wrist and fore-arm. There
are a number of variants: single-blade non-folding, double-blade folding, triple-blade folding. The folding types
are opened by pulling the two lateral bars - between the frame - together, operating a lever, which in turn spreads the
blades as with a scissors.
Scabbards are usually leather, or leather-covered wood, and sometimes metal; may be covered with ornate hammered sheet-metal, usually silver. |
