Kampilan Sword, Borneo, Sea Dyaks

The Kampilan is the native sword of the Sea Dayaks of Borneo and Moros of the Southern Philippines. Straight single-edged blade ~29-1/2", widening toward the forked tips; various inlays and designs on blade. Wood handle with carved "sea serpent" design. The grip is bound with bands of braided rattan over fish-skin. Overall length is ~39-1/2".
