Nair "Fighting" Sword

These rare swords - known as fighting swords of the Nairs of Malabar of Southern India - are believed to date from the 1500's to the 1700's, this example believed from the latter period.
This example has is the classic style hilt with double-edged, longitudinal medial rib, grooved blade.
