SPANISH MODELO 1818
Infantry Sword


This is a very basic sword supplied to the foot-soldiers and colonial troops from 1818 to about 1900. They are very simple in design and construction; no frills.
Cast solid brass hilt with upper guard quillon, ball finial, simple D-shaped knuckle-guard.
Straight steel blade, unfullered, single cutting-edge with a short upper false-edge; blades come in various lengths.
Manufactured at the Toledo Arsenal Spain, the blade is stamped FABRICADO TOLEDO 1820.
