Swiss Model 1842/75
Sharpshooter's Short Sword



Swiss Model 1842/75 Sharshooter's Short Sword manufactured by Gebrider Weyersberg of Solingen, Germany. These swords were carried by Swiss Infantry Sharpshooters.
Wood (ebony) grips fastened by three raised brass rivets.
Blade is straight with spear-point tip, ~6" false-edge; blade length is ~20-5/8". Blade is stamped on ricasso, "GEBR." over "WEYERSBERG," reverse is stamped, "SOLINGEN".
Overall length out of scabbard is ~26-1/4"; overall length in scabbard is ~26-5/8".
Scabbard is brass mounted black leather.
Unit or inpection markings on center of guard (44 between two chevrons).
