Old oriental Dha sword, perhaps late 19th century to early 20th century, Myanmar style from the region of Burma, with cord-wrapped wood scabbard. Similar styles can also be found in Cambodia and Laos.
Overall length in scabbard is ~41"; overall length out of scabbard is ~37".
Wood grip with raised ribs for grip; copper ferrule between hilt and blade.
Blade length is ~24-1/2"; unfullered; geometric designs on blade flats and back-edge with one gold-colored inlay (see images).
Scabbard is distinctly Myanmar - wood two-piece with decorative inter-laced rattan wrap - but pointed tip style is normally found on the blunt-tipped Dao. Two-piece scabbard is slightly age-separated from shrinkage at throat. Remnants of baldric cord (shoulder sling) remain.
Good condition overall (exceptions noted).
