$715.50

Rare Model 1852/79 Imperial Prussian (German) 1st Dragoon Regiment Officer's Saber, with scabbard. These swords were carried by "officers and captains from the Prussian 1st Dragoon Regiment."
Hilt metal components are nickel plate finish with ~60% nickel plate remaining. Large Prussian Eagle grasping sword and scepter on right side of 3/4 basket guard. Grip is wood with most of its shagreen cover missing; all of the decorative twisted brass wire appears to be intact.
Blade is pipe-back in style and is marked EISENHAUER (this is basically an iron proof mark) on right side ~3" from the guard. Scattered light pitting; cutting edge has been lightly sharpened.
Overall length in scabbard is ~39-1/4"; overall length out of scabbard is ~38-1/4"; blade length is ~32-3/4".
Scabbard is blued finish with ~50% remaining. Five dents in scabbard appear to have been intentionally as was common to keep the sword blade from rattling in the scabbard (see images).

Overall good condition with exceptions noted. This is a hard to find sword.
