Winchester-Hotchkiss Musket Model of 1883 (aka Third Model Musket), 45-70 Government caliber. Serial number 81873 so manufactured circa 1895. Ramrod is missing. Scattered freckling to bluing overall (see images). Good wood with one very minor crack propagating from the upper rear tang; one ~3" chip missing from wood on right side near receiver and barrel union.
Used gun. Antique gun; not sold as a shooter; no warranty implied or given. Please have any gun you intend to shoot - in any fashion - checked by a competent gunsmith.
