German Model 1894 Signal/Flare Pistol, Antique, 60498

GERMANF/SP60498 - !!! SOLD !!!

$165.00

This is an antique Imperial German Flare or Signal, designated the Model 1894 (aka Hebel Model 1894). They were used from the 1890s into WWII. This is an early 1890s four digit serial number but these were standard issue during WWI. Maker's mark appears to be a cursive "M" in a circular cartouche that is stamped on the left side of frame before the serial number. Barrel is octagon-to-round with length being ~9"; bore ~26.5mm. Some finish remains on barrel with scattered very light surface pitting overall. Wood grips are worn from use and a little loose; one chip out of right grip (see images) and the letter "A" carved into left grip. Steel construction. Lanyard ring on butt of grip.
Overall condition is about good, action is good and functional; top-break works smoothly.
